NCST Special Report: The Child Sexual Exploitation Crisis
Overview
It seems like everyday you see a new story in the local, regional, and national news regarding the arrest of suspects on Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) and related charges.
From large scale operations meant to identify and apprehend large numbers of suspects by joint taskforces, to investigations resulting from cyber-tips, the never ending fight to protect our children represents a clear crisis impacting all levels of our society.
The evil that CSE represents is immense and it’s perpetrators know no bounds. From trusted teachers and clergy, to military members and politicians, no race, age, gender, or socio-economic group is free from the CSE’s scourge.
Special Report Information
This Special Report aims to chronical both the local impact of the CSE crisis, as well as place it in context of the larger regional and national crisis.
In order to better illustrate the local impact, we will be providing data including arrests, investigations, indictments, and case resolutions, with updates for each over time. This data, along with updates on regional and national operations by agencies like the GBI, FBI, HSI, ICE, and others, especially those that have a local ( or regional ) connection will hopefully serve to place the local impact in context with the greater issue at hand.
Data means nothing without the information needed to understand it. We will strive to provide, and reference appropriately, the information and resources the community needs in order to understand the data represented in the report.
This report will cover arrests that include Child Sexual Exploitation charges, as well as charges of a sexual nature.
