Investigation Summary
At an unknown time, the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office received a Cyber Tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. CCSO Investigators started working the case and learned that Ellis had moved out of state. Working with multiple law enforcement agencies they were able to locate Ellis in Bledsoe County, Tennessee. He was arrested in Tennessee and extradited back to Georgia and booked into the Coweta County Jail on August 7th, 2025 on the following charges:

Count 1 – Child Sexual Exploitation ( O.C.G.A. § 16-12-100(b) )
The Grand Jury aforesaid, in the name and behalf of the Citizens of the State of Georgia, charge and accuse IAN JAMES ELLIS with the offense of Sexual Exploitation of Children (O.C.G.A. 16-12-100(b)) in that the said accused, in the State of Georgia and in the County of Coweta, on or about the 10th day of April, 2025, did knowingly possess and control a video titled “e779f049-f575-42d8-aa00-8c5357441d0e”, material depicting a female minor and a portion of a female minor’s body engaged in sexually explicit conduct, to wit: the female minor’s vagina is penetrated by an adult male penis, contrary to the laws of the State of Georgia, the good order, peace and dignity thereof.
Count 2 – Child Sexual Exploitation ( O.C.G.A. § 16-12-100(b) )
The Grand Jury aforesaid, in the name and behalf of the Citizens of the State of Georgia, charge and accuse IAN JAMES ELLIS with the offense of Sexual Exploitation of Children (O.C.G.A. 16-12-100(b)) in that the said accused, in the State of Georgia and in the County of Coweta, on or about the 10th day of April, 2025, did knowingly possess and control a video titled “f958ab83-bb43-4e92-8059-f630089e2974”, material depicting a female minor and a portion of a female minor’s body engaged in sexually explicit conduct, to wit: a male’s penis is manually masturbated and ejaculates onto the face and head area of the female minor, contrary to the laws of the State of Georgia, the good order, peace and dignity thereof.
