Investigation Summary

Records indicate that an investigation was launched by the Coweta County Sheriff’s Department after a complaint was made on June 26th, 2025. The complaint alleged sexually explicit conduct between Kori Jo Lynn Morris, 38, and a 14 year old male victim.

As a result of that investigation a second individual, Brittany Shay Wingo, 39, of Sharpsburg, was arrested on July 25th, 2025 and booked into the Coweta County Jail on a single count of:

  • Contributing to the Delinquency or Dependency of a Minor (M)

According to information provided by investigators, this charge stems from Wingo allowing the victim to use weed at the residence.

Records indicate that Wingo was able to book out of the jail a few hours later.

On July 26th, 2025, Kori Jo Lynn Morris, 38, of Newnan, was arrested and booked into the Coweta County Jail on the following charges:

  • Aggravated Child Molestation (F)
  • Contributing to the Delinquency or Dependency of a Minor (M)
  • Tampering with Evidence – Misdemeanor (M)

As of July 28th, Morris remains in custody with no bond.

Counts

Count 1 – Aggravated Child Molestation  ( O.C.G.A. § 16-6-4(c) )

The Grand Jury aforesaid, in the name and behalf of the Citizens of the State of Georgia, charge and accuse KORI JOLYNN MORRIS with the offense of Aggravated Child Molestation (O.C.G.A. 16-6-4(c)) in that the said accused, in the State of Georgia and in the County of Coweta, between the 20th day of June, 2025, and the 21st day of June, 2025, did commit an immoral act involving an act of sodomy to [ REDACTED ], a child under the age of 16 years, by putting her mouth on the sexual organs of said child, with the with the intent to arouse the sexual desires of said accused, contrary to the laws of the State of Georgia, the good order, peace and dignity thereof.

Count 2 – Child Molestation   ( O.C.G.A. § 16-6-4(a) )

The Grand Jury aforesaid, in the name and behalf of the Citizens of the State of Georgia, charge and accuse KORI JOLYNN MORRIS with the offense of Child Molestation (O.C.G.A. 16-6-4(a)) in that the said accused, in the State of Georgia and in the County of Coweta, between the 20th day of June, 2025, and the 21st day of June, 2025, did commit an immoral act to [ REDACTED ], a child under the age of 16 years, by touching the penis of said child with her hand, with the intent to arouse the sexual desires of said accused, contrary to the laws of the State of Georgia, the good order, peace and dignity thereof.

Count 3 – Child Molestation  ( O.C.G.A. § 16-6-4(a) )

The Grand Jury aforesaid, in the name and behalf of the Citizens of the State of Georgia, charge and accuse KORI JOLYNN MORRIS with the offense of Child Molestation (O.C.G.A. 16-6-4(a)) in that the said accused, in the State of Georgia and in the County of Coweta, between the 20th day of June, 2025, and the 21st day of June, 2025, did commit an immoral act to [ REDACTED ], a child under the age of 16 years, by having sexual intercourse with said child, with the intent to arouse the sexual desires of said accused, contrary to the laws of the State of Georgia, the good order, peace and dignity thereof.

Count 4 – Rape Statutory  ( O.C.G.A. § 16-6-3(a) )

The Grand Jury aforesaid, in the name and behalf of the Citizens of the State of Georgia, charge and accuse KORI JOLYNN MORRIS with the offense of Statutory Rape (O.C.G.A. 16-6-3(a)) in that the said accused, in the State of Georgia and in the County of Coweta, between the 20th day of June, 2025, and the 21st day of June, 2025, being older than 21 years of age, did engage in sexual intercourse with [ REDACTED ], a person under 16 years of age and not being the spouse of the accused, contrary to the laws of the State of Georgia, the good order, peace and dignity thereof.

Count 5 – Contributing To Delinquency Or Dependency Of A Minor  ( O.C.G.A. § 16-12-1 )

The Grand Jury aforesaid, in the name and behalf of the Citizens of the State of Georgia, charge and accuse KORI JOLYNN MORRIS AND BRITTANY SHAY WINGO, INDIVIDUALLY AND AS PARTIES CONCERNED IN THE COMMISSION OF A CRIME, with the offense of Contributing to Delinquency of a Minor (O.C.G.A. 16-12-1) in that the said accused, in the State of Georgia and in the County of Coweta, between the 20th day of June, 2025, and the 21st day of June, 2025, did knowingly and willfully encourage [ REDACTED ], a minor under the age of 17 years, to commit a delinquent act by smoking marijuana with said minor, contrary to the laws of the State of Georgia, the good order, peace and dignity thereof.

Count 6 – Tampering With Evidence  ( O.C.G.A. § 16-10-94 (M) )

The Grand Jury aforesaid, in the name and behalf of the Citizens of the State of Georgia, charge and accuse KORI JOLYNN MORRIS with the offense of Tampering With Evidence (O.C.G.A. 16-10-94) in that the said accused, in the State of Georgia and in the County of Coweta, on or about the 2nd day of July, 2025, did knowingly alter physical evidence by deleting text messages, said evidence involving the prosecuting of the offense of child molestation, with the intent to obstruct to prosecution of herself, contrary to the laws of the State of Georgia, the good order, peace and dignity thereof.

Count 7 – Cruelty To Children In The Second Degree  ( O.C.G.A. § 16-5-70(C) )

The Grand Jury aforesaid, in the name and behalf of the Citizens of the State of Georgia, charge and accuse BRITTANY SHAY WINGO with the offense of Cruelty to Children in the Second Degree (O.C.G.A. 16-5-70(c)) in that the said accused, in the State of Georgia and in the County of Coweta, between the 20th day of June, 2025, and the 21st day of June, 2025, did, with criminal negligence, cause [ REDACTED ], a child under the age of eighteen (18) years, excessive mental pain by telling him not to tell anyone about being sexually molested, contrary to the laws of the State of Georgia, the good order, peace and dignity thereof.

Count 8 – Child Molestation  ( O.C.G.A. § 16-6-4(a) )

The Grand Jury aforesaid, in the name and behalf of the Citizens of the State of Georgia, charge and accuse KORI JOLYNN MORRIS with the offense of Child Molestation (O.C.G.A. 16-6-4(a)) in that the said accused, in the State of Georgia and in the County of Coweta, between the 15th day of October, 2024, and the 30th day of October, 2024, the exact date of the offense being unknown to the Grand Jury, did commit an immoral act to [ REDACTED ], a child under the age of 16 years, by rubbing her vaginal area against the genital area of said child, with the intent to arouse the sexual desires of said accused, contrary to the laws of the State of Georgia, the good order, peace and dignity thereof.

Count 9 – Sexual Battery Against A Child Under 16  ( O.C.G.A. § 16-6-22.1 )

The Grand Jury aforesaid, in the name and behalf of the Citizens of the State of Georgia, charge and accuse KORI JOLYNN MORRIS with the offense of Sexual Battery Against a Child Under 16 (O.C.G.A. 16-6-22.1) in that the said accused, in the State of Georgia and in the County of Coweta, between the 15th day of October, 2024, and the 30th day of October, 2024, the exact date of the offense being unknown to the Grand Jury, did intentionally make physical contact with the intimate parts of the body of another person, [ REDACTED ], a child under the age of 16 years, for the purpose of sexual arousal on the part of said accused, by making physical contact with his groin, contrary to the laws of the State of Georgia the good order, peace and dignity thereof.

Oct 15, 25 On October 15th, 2025 a Coweta County Grand Jury indicted Kori Jo Lynn Morris on nine counts, as well as Brittany Shay Wingo on a single count
Aug 29, 25 Booking records indicate that the following additional charge has been added against Kori Jo Lynn Morris. Child Molestation (F) No information has been released regarding the addition of the charge, however the investigation into the incident remains active.
Jul 30, 25 The following was provided by the CCSO PIO on July 30th, 2025. The Coweta County Sheriff’s Office received a report of sexually explicit conduct involving 38-year-old Kori Morris and a 14-year-old victim. After a thorough investigation and the discovery of collaborating evidence, Morris was charged with aggravated child molestation, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and tampering with evidence. Additional evidence was discovered which led to the arrest of 39-year-old Brittany Wingo for contributing to the delinquency of a minor. This remains an active investigation and additional charges are possible. According to reporting by The Newnan Times-Herald, Wingo’s charge ” stems from statements indicating the teen was allowed to use marijuana at the residence “.
