Investigation Summary

Records indicate that an investigation was launched by the Coweta County Sheriff’s Department after a complaint was made on June 26th, 2025. The complaint alleged sexually explicit conduct between Kori Jo Lynn Morris, 38, and a 14 year old male victim.

As a result of that investigation a second individual, Brittany Shay Wingo, 39, of Sharpsburg, was arrested on July 25th, 2025 and booked into the Coweta County Jail on a single count of:

  • Contributing to the Delinquency or Dependency of a Minor (M)

According to information provided by investigators, this charge stems from Wingo allowing the victim to use weed at the residence.

Records indicate that Wingo was able to book out of the jail a few hours later.

On July 26th, 2025, Kori Jo Lynn Morris, 38, of Newnan, was arrested and booked into the Coweta County Jail on the following charges:

  • Aggravated Child Molestation (F)
  • Contributing to the Delinquency or Dependency of a Minor (M)
  • Tampering with Evidence – Misdemeanor (M)

As of July 28th, Morris remains in custody with no bond.

CCSO Provides additional information regarding investigation and arrest

The following was provided by the CCSO PIO on July 30th, 2025.

The Coweta County Sheriff’s Office received a report of sexually explicit conduct involving 38-year-old Kori Morris and a 14-year-old victim. After a thorough investigation and the discovery of collaborating evidence, Morris was charged with aggravated child molestation, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and tampering with evidence. Additional evidence was discovered which led to the arrest of 39-year-old Brittany Wingo for contributing to the delinquency of a minor. This remains an active investigation and additional charges are possible.

According to reporting by The Newnan Times-Herald, Wingo’s charge ” stems from statements indicating the teen was allowed to use marijuana at the residence “.
