In January 2025, Deputies responded to a residence on Sweetbriar Drive following a report of threatening messages received through Facebook Messenger. The victim, a minor, reported that an unknown individual sent sexually explicit messages, made direct  threats of violence, and shared images of firearms.

The suspect also made alarming references suggesting knowledge of the victim’s location, residence, and school.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect used false profile images but after a thorough investigation, Investigators identified 44-year-old Richard Cooper of Fayetteville GA as the suspect. Warrants were obtained for Mr. Cooper and he was booked into Coweta County Jail for Enticing a Child for Indecent Purposes and Terroristic Threats.
