Investigation Summary
According to available documentation, in September of 2024 a Cyber Tip was forwarded to the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) regarding Robert Christopher Mayfield, 18, of Newnan being in possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM). CCSO Investigator’s initiated an investigation that lead to the execution of a search warrant on his residence on March 13th, 2025. Evidence gathered during the search warrant, as well as other evidence gathered during the investigation lead to Mayfield’s arrest at the time of the search warrant.
Mayfield was booked into the Coweta County Jail on March 13th, 2025 and charged with the following:

On May 8th, 2025, Mayfield was indicted on 9 counts of Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSE) by a Coweta County Grand Jury. Coweta County Superior Court (CCSC) case SUR2025000300 was filed on the same day.
According to warrants filed on March 7th, 2025, the initial Cyber Tip was centered around Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) stored on Mayfield’s Microsoft account. This information is represented in Counts 1 through 3 which indicate the date of the crime as being February 4th, 2024 and revolve around 2 digital image files and 1 digital video file of CSAM content.
The remaining Counts, 4 through 9, indicates a date of the crime as being March 13th, 2025. With the date matching that of the search warrant execution on his residence, it’s believed that the multiple images and videos referenced in the Counts were located as a result of that search warrant.
Due to Mayfield’s age the case was originally set for an April 4th, 2025, commitment hearing. According to Court documents the hearing was waived by Mayfield’s Attorney. Documents also show that 2 of the charges he’d been booked on after his arrest, Use Of Communication Facility In Commission Of A Felony Invs (F), were dismissed by consent between the Defense and the ADA, while the 2 remaining CSE charges were bound over to the Superior Court.
On April 8th, 2025, Mayfield’s Attorney filed a Motion for Bond with the court seeking a hearing regarding setting bond in the case. However before it could be heard, and in record time, Mayfield was Indicted on May 8th, 2025.
On June 17th, 2025, a bond hearing was held before the Court. The Court denied the bond stating ” The defendant is a risk to commit future felonies and the defendant poses a danger to the community. ”
The case proceedings show the next Court date for Mayfield’s case is November 13th, 2025 for a criminal pre-trial hearing.

Count 1 – Sexual Exploitation of Children ( O.C.G.A. § 16-12-100(b) )
The Grand Jury aforesaid, in the name and behalf of the Citizens of the State of Georgia, charge and accuse ROBERT CHRISTOPHER MAYFIELD with the offense of Sexual Exploitation of Children (O.C.G.A. 16-12-100(b)(8)) in that the said accused, in the State of Georgia and in the County of Coweta, on or about the 4th day of February, 2024, did knowingly possess and control a digital image, file number 09d48ac-76b0-4e0a-9d99-l b95fd0ccefe.jpg, material depicting a minor engaged in masturbation and penetration of the rectum by an object, to wit: a dildo, sexually explicit conduct, contrary to the laws of the State of Georgia, the good order, peace and dignity thereof.

The Grand Jury aforesaid, in the name and behalf of the Citizens of the State of Georgia, charge and accuse ROBERT CHRISTOPHER MAYFIELD with the offense of Sexual Exploitation of Children (O.C.G.A. 16-12-100(b)(8)) in that the said accused, in the State of Georgia and in the County of Coweta, on or about the 4th day of February, 2024, did knowingly possess and control a digital image, file number 9f96198d-fdd7-4503-874d-fa84243d53fa.JPG, material depicting a minor engaged in lewd exhibition of the genitals and pubic area, sexually explicit conduct, contrary to the laws of the State of Georgia, the good order, peace and dignity thereof.

Count 4 – Sexual Exploitation of Children ( O.C.G.A. § 16-12-100(b) )
The Grand Jury aforesaid, in the name and behalf of the Citizens of the State of Georgia, charge and accuse ROBERT CHRISTOPHER MAYFIELD with the offense of Sexual Exploitation of Children (O.C.G.A. 16-12-100(b)(8)) in that the said accused, in the State of Georgia and in the County of Coweta, on or about the 13th day of March, 2025, did knowingly possess and control digital images, file number EB386144DD9D-4191-9A9D-FEAC4EDEAB86_fb68_current, material depicting a minor engaged in masturbation and penetration of the rectum with an object, sexually explicit conduct, contrary to the laws of the State of Georgia, the good order, peace and dignity thereof.

Count 7 – Sexual Exploitation of Children ( O.C.G.A. § 16-12-100(b) )
The Grand Jury aforesaid, in the name and behalf of the Citizens of the State of Georgia, charge and accuse ROBERT CHRISTOPHER MAYFIELD with the offense of Sexual Exploitation of Children (O.C.G.A. 16-12-100(b)(8)) in that the said accused, in the State of Georgia and in the County of Coweta, on or about the 13th day of March, 2025, did knowingly possess and control a digital image, material depicting a minor engaged in lewd exhibition of the genitals and pubic area with a green straw, sexually thereof explicit conduct, contrary to the laws of the State of Georgia, the good order, peace and dignity thereof.

Count 9 – Sexual Exploitation of Children ( O.C.G.A. § 16-12-100(b) )
The Grand Jury aforesaid, in the name and behalf of the Citizens of the State of Georgia, charge and accuse ROBERT CHRISTOPHER MAYFIELD with the offense of Sexual Exploitation of Children (O.C.G.A. 16-12-100(b)(8)) in that the said accused, in the State of Georgia and in the County of Coweta, on or about the 13th day of March, 2025, did knowingly possess and control a digital video, material depicting a minor engaged in masturbation and penetration of the vagina with an object, to wit: a hairbrush, sexually explicit conduct, contrary to the laws of the State of Georgia, the good order, peace and dignity thereof.
